Wooden Cutlery Tray
There are many different ways to store your cutlery, but many
people prefer the look and durability of a wooden cutlery tray. These wooden trays fit inside your drawer and make
it easy to organize your cutlery. Some even heave handles so you can easily lift the tray out of the drawer. They
are usually lined with felt or fabric so that your flatware doesn’t scratch the wood, or the other way round. If
you buy one that doesn’t have this lining it might be worth placing some fabric in it yourself so your tray and
your cutlery are not damaged. Cutlery trays are very important in any kitchen as they keep all of your cutlery neat
and organized rather than just lying loose in a drawer. With cooking, time is often of the essence and if you have
a hot dinner in the oven, the last thing you want to be doing is searching through lots of cutlery trying to find
just one more knife. Of all the rooms in the house, the kitchen is the one that should be the most organized. You
spend so much time in the kitchen preparing meals, washing up and in some kitchens, even eating. Knowing exactly
where everything is kept is very important.
Lakeland has a wooden tray that can expand outwards if you have
a nice large drawer and lots of cutlery. The benefit of this is if you move your tray will still fit into a smaller
drawer, although you will have to find somewhere else for your spare cutlery. The small version of the tray has
five compartments suitable for knives, forks, tablespoons, tea spoons plus a spare. So this on its own should be
ample space. Then an extra compartment comes out of each side to make the tray have seven compartments. The two
extra sections are slightly bigger and so they can fit your kitchen utensils in too. The tray is made with Rubber
wood and would look very handsome in your drawer.
Expandable cutlery trays are very common, especially the ones
made of wood. If this is the style you prefer then you have a wide selection to choose from! An expandable tray is
handy if you have gone shopping without taking the measurements of your drawer. If you are unsure whether the tray
you have picked up will fit, put it down and pick up an expandable one. Chances are it will fit whether it is
stretched out or not. Some expandable trays extend sideways like the Lakeland version; others slide on top and
expand outwards to reveal sections underneath.
It is even possible to buy the sections separately, so if you
need more compartments you can buy them. You can buy cutlery drawer inserts from many places and they are usually
to be used in addition to a wooden cutlery tray. However, if you have a drawer that is an awkward shape or size,
you could just buy the inserts in different sizes to arrange the drawer to your exact
specification.
